Need to get moving? Consider getting involved in one of these organizations to get away from the video games and enjoy a little time out of the house.

Wounded Warrior Project

        Description: The Wounded Warrior Project is probably the biggest organization supporting wounded soldiers. Their specialty is providing activities to wounded soldiers.

 

Armed Services YMCA

         Description: This link gives the locations of the Armed Services YMCAs. If there is one in your area, it is definitely worth visiting. The programs that are offered cover a broad range but most are recreational. There are programs for the soldiers, spouses, and children.

 

Paralympic Military Program

         Description: This link gives the locations of the Paralympic Sports Clubs. If there is one in your area, it is definitely worth joining so that the veteran can get back in shape and play a sport on a professional level that they enjoy. 

 

Disabled Sports USA Military Sports Program

www.dsusa.org

         Description:This program offers several different sports options across America for the severely injured. Participants and their guests are provided programs free of charge including individualized adaptive instruction, adaptive equipment, transportation, event fees and lodging.
